had a madcap weekend of fun!
weekend started on thursday, C planned a surprise for sis's birthday. we went to check in at marina bay sands hotel in the afternoon. the MBS hotel and shopping centre had great deco, although the shopping centre is partially open and the rest of the shops are still undergoing renovation.

the hotel lobby had super alot of well dressed foreigners. okay i have hope in singapore's tourism industry. hotel room's deco got class, i like! the feel is lovely. and the view's fantastic too :)
the entire shopping centre is just overspilling with luxury shops and opulence. everywhere you look it's just branded. even the food court-like food was ex hahaha.

iLight marina bay exhibit. you use a hand crank to generate enough energy to power the light bulbs on this fishing rod.
we went for dinner then watched a performance.
super cool, the perf was a pairing of lights with music, a rather interesting concept. it was electronic music, and the guy played with tone, loudness and repetition as the lights appeared danced around the room. an eyeopener!
waited for jie to come after lessons and unfortunately she wasn't all that surprised hahaha. oh well it was still a good idea anyway.

cabbed home cos had lecture on friday (midnight cab charges are killer :x)
after lect on fri, went to check in at swissotel the stamford with aunt (yes we are serial hotel hoppers!) got a room with a fantastic view, 56th floor.

awesome view no? :D PSI was over 100 that day though, so the view wasn't prefect >.< oh well but still so pretty! better than the 17th floor we had the last time we went hahaha.
haze cleared slightly on saturday though, so the view got better, could see pretty far.
and the night view, especially with the flyer, MBS and esplanade, is just so iconic! couldn't resist standing at the balcony soaking in the view and taking a few more shots.
the rest went to marina barrage and chinatown for brekkie while i stayed in the hotel to do my work (busy week!). such a downer but oh well, what better view can you have to do readings and write essay right? :D

the rest went to marina barrage and chinatown for brekkie while i stayed in the hotel to do my work (busy week!). such a downer but oh well, what better view can you have to do readings and write essay right? :D
