as you grow older, you realise that many things change. the world isn't as what you think it is anymore. life may be in full technicolour when you were younger, but now, black and white is all you see.
when one is young, you have dreams.
you dream of what it's like to be an adult.
you dream of the freedom of being an adult.
you yearn for the day when you don't have to listen to your mum saying, "eat all your veggies."
you wish for the carefree life of coming home at 3am without anyone barking at you.
you dream, of many many splendid things; of finishing school, of getting a job, of earning your own money, of getting a house, of getting married.. and the list continues..
but it's only when you get older that the realization hits you, that what you see is not what you get.
life isn't a simple picture of black and white.
choices comes with consequences. many a time, you'll make a decision, only to regret it afterwards.
often, you'll get hurt by others, whether intentionally or not.
everytime you make a mistake, let yourself get hurt, you vow to never do the same thing again, never let yourself fall for it again.
yet, time and time again, you let the same thing happen.
that's humans for you.
when you were young, you had childish dreams of splendor.
as you grow, you get your dreams dashed. what you imagines just isn't possible in the real world.
what's so real about the world we're in anyway? it doesn't seem any more real to me today as it was yesterday; so why should it be tomorrow?
life's a puzzle.
& all along, its only what I thought.
