i'm so tired! orientation was tiring, haha what else. anyway don't be mistaken by the last post, i enjoyed orientation. seriously, the OGLs and council are really hyper over there, which is infectious. and, the orientAtion programme, i can say, is pretty well planned. and, my OG Oro has good OGLs, in my opinion. heard from some other people that their OGLs weren't that enthusiastic,so i'm really glad for mine. okay, i think they're called ruc and wen zhen. or something like that. don't blame me, i'm bad with names.
i didn't know what to expect when i came to ij, and i must say i'm pleasantly surprised by what i find in ij. for one thing, the facilities are new [duh]. and probably because of it's relative newness [it's first batch of students was received in 2005], the school doesn't have this conservative feel i get from other schools. i was quite impressed with their personal development programme, and also by the many other ideas introduced in the school.
love the school's fixation on all things starry. have always had an interest in astrology and the like since i was young. haha. the words on the school crest, ad astra, i like! it means "to the stars" or something like that. sorry, was sleeping during the principal's talk.
the college anthem's nice too, was written by dick lee. ya, that dick lee. the one on singapore idol, 50 plus but still looks quite young? talented songwriter and all that. so happens that the college anthem had this national day song kind of feel. i think maybe cos so many national day songs are composed by him. the fried rice paradise i think is by him. now i can't really remember the tune, but ya, it was nice.
of course, nothing beats anderson lah.. i feel school-sick already and i miss anderson! so many things we did during orientation reminded me of anderson. the college anthem, the school cheer [anderson's definitely rock more].. etc etc. even the toilets and lockers reminded me of anderson. our school song might be boring and hilarious in the piano recording but it's things i've come to get used to in my life in secondary school.
oh man i really miss anderson!
ij is nice too, but it just isn't home.
or maybe i just need some time to get used to it. and probably by then i'll be leaving to go for second intake in another school. but anyway, i do hope i enjoy my time in innova.
I MISS ANDERSON!!
i sound like a student with mixed identities. or maybe spilt personalities.
as they say, "once an andersonian, always an andersonian".
or the funnier one, "sheng shi anderson de ren, si shi anderson de gui" [meaning, born an andersonian, even as a ghost, you're an andersionan.]
exhausted, off to sleep.
oh, and last words, INCA RULES! wusha!
& all along, its only what I thought.
