hey guys(and girls), for those who are interested: AMB got sliver.and yes, i'm proud of AMB. we might not have gotten what we wanted, but to be serious, sliver is already fantastic results. and i'm happy. through this, we have learnt, we played well, and most importantly, we played as a band. even though i don't deny the medal is important, what is more important is what you guys put in before SYF. Teamwork, hardwork, determination and perseverance. outsiders will only see what medal we got, but AMBians, we know ourselves what we have achieved, both in sound and in our bonding.
also, what i want to say is that no one should take on personal responsibility and blame yourselves of anything. afterall, we are in this together and will support each other, yeah guys? and to the juniors, i'm sure the sec 4 batch does not feel you have let us down. in fact, i'm really pround of our sec 2s, so young and already so dong shi. go guys, you'll be the next batch of leaders for SYF 2009, take pride in what you have achieved thus far.
to the sec 3s and 4s, this may be our last SYF, but i trust that AMB has touched you enough that the spirit of band still lives in you after you have left the band, and we'll come back as alumni, older, wiser, but still AMBians at heart.
We believe you guys can do it! and together, we'll bring the band to greater heights!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~it seemed like a repeat of two years ago, expect that my position is different, the sec 4s are older, more matured. our sec 2s are still as young as we were, although not as naive as we were.last week was the week i saw so many teary faces. no arguement here. there was of course, AMB, the other bands at singapore Conference Hall, the malay dances on thurs, and many others. so many people i also seen them cry more than once.
someone, i think it was xiaohui, she told me once:
" leaders do not cry, not in front of their people."
what a sound piece of advice

some people may think:" those band people, competition only mah, what's the big deal cry so much for what? so emotional, do nothing but cry, it's only a CCA for goodness sake." and those that go:" band, sliver again huuh."
i'm sorry, but band is much more than a CCA, and this SYF means alot to us. it's not something that outsiders will understand. you do not know how much effort and hardwork, sweat and tears we have put in, so thankyou very much, i hope you will not make such irresponsible comments about the band, it really hurts us deeply when we hear of it.
i'm sorry if it affects you, but i'll still stand by my band. i won't let outsiders insult my band without reason.
lastly, i'm sorry to those that got scolded through my messages straight after the results was released. understandably, i wasn't in a fantastic mood. but all the same, thanks for trying to console me.
for those who are concerned, i'm better now, not by much, but time will help. yes it will.
still a little emotionally unstable- emotion's like a rollercoaster. one moment you're flying high, and the next you are down in the dumps: you'll never know what to expect.
what to do? life still goes on. the sun won't stop rising for you; the tides will still come and go; Earth still spins.
just face each day with the hope that the future days will be better, and remember that somewhere out there, there are people who care for you :))
there, doesn't that thought make you feel a little happier? does your heart feel a little more warmth when you take comfort in that?
