haven't really had time to blog. did quite badly for exams, but what to do?bo li lao shi is leaving. much as i think his lessons are useless, i quite pity him. i mean, a teacher is supposed to teach, and be respected. but... he just doesn't have it. at least, during his last lesson, be slightly nicer can? say goodbye.
here's a story:
my sister had this teacher when she was in sec 4. this teacher, mr lee, was her POA teacher, also her form teacher. all the kids didn't like him a lot. they gave him nick names, played tricks on him, made fun of him. my sister always used to call him papaya lee. he was single, quite a loner, without many friends in the school. the kids rebelled. they disliked his subject, flunked it. they graduated.
he continued to teach at the school. no one took much notice of him. he just wasn't the type to be noticed. to others, he went on with his life as normal. no one bothered much about him. his brother died the year before, he had both his parents and another sibling too.
at the end of last year, he got transferred to another neighbourhood school, to teach the same subjects. he didn't like it there. he could not stand the stress, the unfamiliar place, and many more. he asked to be transferred back, but failed. he was miserable, stressed out by life.
he did not see the meaning in life anymore, and he hatched a plan. he took a break from teaching. he went other to stay at his parents' place. over the week, he brought them to his favourite places, pampered them, spent as much time as possible with his aged parents. he made sure his issurance was in his father's name, and left all his money to his parents.
can you guess what is about to happen next?
in the early morning, at 3 am, he jumped. he jumped from 30 storey high, when his parents were sleeping. needless to say, he died on the spot. how could he have survived?
my sister went to his funeral. his body was badly damaged. his nose, one that was part of his students' teasing, was flattered. my sister never erased the image of the body from her brain. she never forgot the memory of him either.
conclusion of story:
teachers, just like anybody, are humans. they have a heart, a body, a mind, just like you and me. even if they treat you badly all the time, forgive and forget. live and let live. they are humans too. however bad or iron hearted, being nice to them once in while won't kill. in fact, they may even kill themselves.
so, be kind and caring. bear in mind "here today, gone tomorrow".
never think:"aiyah, she/he is always here, scared what. not like she would disappear." for all you know, she might.
when i was younger, i loved enid blyton's books. i recall, it used to say :"one good deed begoes? other".
remember, what you do will ome back to you. treat others the way you want to be treated. kindness goes round in a circle.
start today, soon it would come back to you. help someone, and someone else will help you when the day comes. when you are really grateful to this certain person, pass it on.
it's never too late to start.
